Preparing for Climate Change

Our very survival is at stake here. And yet what have Rick Scott and Republicans in Tallahassee done to prepare our state for this existential challenge? Absolutely nothing.

No state in America is more vulnerable to climate change than Florida. As sea levels continue to rise, not only will we see more intense flooding, but we will see our drinking water affected as sea water makes its way into our ground wells.

I will go to Tallahassee to sound the alarm on climate change and take bold steps to prepare our state. I will push for the creation of a new agency called the Department of Climate Change Resilience that will ensure every corner of our state is taking the steps necessary to prepare.

In addition, I will vote for Florida to join the United States Climate Alliance, a group of states that have independently rejoined the Paris Agreement in the wake of President Trump's irresponsible decision to leave it.
